John 8:32

Finding Life in God's Word

From the Gospel of John 8:30-32 we find our only true hope is in Jesus Christ. You might have fallen away from the Lord or not even a Christian. We encourage you to seek God's love and power by studying the scriptures. Let us look at three phrases in from the Gospel of John verse 8:32 (chapter 8; verse 32).

"As He (Jesus) spoke these things, many came to believe in Him . Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word , then you are truly disciples of Mine ; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Three key phrases from John 8:32

Believe in Him — The Beginning

"The power for obedience and freedom starts with belief in Jesus the Christ. God sent Jesus Christ to earth to take away His people's sins. I will presume you do believe in our great Lord. However, if you do not believe, He welcomes you as others to learn of His ways of peace. We are not born believers. Do you believe in Christ as they believed?

My Word — The Means

" We must unashamedly use the Christian scriptures to share with people how to overcome all kinds of temptations and sins. The scriptures clearly teach the reason for evil, the conquest of evil, and the glory of living according to God's ways. Do you know how to use God's Word to become Christ's disciple or overcome sin?

Truly Disciples of Mine — The End Goal

" Many have called themselves followers of Jesus Christ but have not lived like Jesus. They become satisfied with poor excuses for their sin. Yes, temptation is vicious, but Jesus Christ is greater. Obedience can assure us of our true disciple-like heart, but it does not qualify us to be His disciples. Only our belief in Christ can do this. Are you sure you are Christ's disciple?

Christ offers us a life well worth living.
