After all, the Lord designed marriage and knows what is best for us. The problem is not that these goals are beyond our reach, but that we expect them to come true so easily, as if it was a gift rather than something to work toward.

Great marriages need to be built. They do not come about by accident. They are carefully built according to the design of the Maker if they are to obtain such an elegant and glorious union.

You probably have heard that arguments are natural and even good for marriages. You have probably accepted with others that men and women are so different and that they could never share deeply with one another. This is so typical of those who have given up on marriages. We need to repent from the mindset that God would ever design something that is so wretched especially when the couple's marriage is depicted by being one.

We simply do not understand the mysterious and powerful principles at work within marriage. We have worldly marriages and secretly wonder what happened. We don’t love our spouses and question why our marriages are not better. But we all can have great marriages. They might not be perfect but they can be good, growing and enriching relationships.

The principles of marriage are not hard to understand. They are in fact incredibly simple. Llike a beautiful snowflake, their intricate design is so easily destroyed. If we are ever going to see and apply the incredible principles of marriage, then we need to step far away from the world and draw close to God. He will guide us step by step into the fullness of His promises.

Did not God give us those dreams of a great marriage? Should we not turn to Him for obtaining those rich and beautiful marriages built on His intricate design?

We (Paul & Linda) have been married 30+ wonderful years and have been raising children for all but one year!
