They’re Coming!

A Filming Team Comes to the Bucknell Home

We are catching up after visiting Paul’s parents in Florida. The laundry piles up quickly. So what is the hurry? The filming team contracted by the BBC is coming to our house tomorrow and will be here off and on for one week.

We need the Lord’s strength. We are grateful that the weather appears to be getting warmer so the children can play outside rather than giving the crew only an inside story. Since they want to film and interview us, it will be quite busy, especially for Paul and Linda.

We cannot fully prepare what to say. But as before, we saw how the Holy Spirit helped us. Our confidence is in Him rather than in our wisdom. May God use this documentary on biblical parenting to build hope among His people around the globe, turning them back to the Scriptures and helping them build godly families.

Stepping Up to Bat

Fearful? No, but probably nervous. It is like stepping up to bat. The batter has waited so long to hit the ball, and now the opportunity has come. But as he steps up, he realizes it may not be as easy as he thought.

Paul will speak five times in Chinese during the weekend of March 24. It will be like being in China, but here in the United States. He is working through the messages now, and the slides need translation. Thankfully, someone is willing to do this.

Paul will speak on one of his favorite topics: experiencing renewal through our personal devotions. We will also soon begin an English parenting class and, if needed, a Chinese class.

• Thanks for safety and health in our travels.
• God blessed the times Paul spoke while traveling.
• We are glad to be back, though very busy catching up.
• Drafts for four of the five retreat talks are complete.
• We are thankful for a special financial gift.
• Pastor Stephen in India had a good group of pastors from one area who want to work together to evangelize every village.
• Paul discovered that download files were not functioning after a web-host change. The problem has now been corrected.
• Praise God that about 2,500 pages are viewed each day.

Requests to God

• Pray for the Bucknell family as the BBC filming crew comes from March 8–16. May God bless us so that the world will be blessed.
• May God’s Word go forth mightily as Paul preaches on March 12 and 19.
• Two-thirds of the counseling book has been edited. Pray for the final third.
• Pray for provision of a vehicle so Pastor Stephen can reach villages more easily.
• Keep praying as Paul prepares slides, handouts, and group exercises for the March 24–26 seminar and retreat.
• Ask the Lord to prepare the right people for the ten-week parenting course beginning in March.
