Purpose

The video podcast on 'New Life' from John 1:12-13 describes what a believer needs to do to become a follower of Christ and the results of believing in Jesus: security, hope, love and guidance from God the Father. All the things that they would want are found as a child in God's family.

John 1:12-13

“12 But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13, NASB).

Cross Trainer Discipleship material

3 X E is a seven lesson discipling booklet for new believers: exaltation, edification and evangelism.

John 1:12-13 speaks simply about how a person comes to be a believer and part of God's family.

Here are the major concepts in review question format. We understand that these questions can get a bit difficult as they involve interpretation. If you need to, view the video again or write.

Even better, find a mentor to work with you as you work through these questions.

Summary

The new believer should be greatly comforted to find that he or she is not just a member because of some application but belongs to God's family as an actual child of God because he was born of God. God wants us in His family and will forever take care of us. Once a child of God, always a child of God.
