His Person, His Power, His Ways

Overcome Anxiety: Finding Peace, Discovering God - a bookHis Person, His Power, His Ways

When God's thoughts become our thoughts,
we have the peace of God.

Peace will be temporary unless we have resolved the down deep root worry that we have been trying to satisfy. For God's comfort to become ours, we need to persistently focus on His person, power and ways. Our thoughts need to be like His thoughts. We need to make life changes to meet God in this way.

Notice how this following passage emphasizes the place of the knowledge of Him. As we know Him and His Word, we begin to experience His divine power.

"Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust." 2 Peter 1:3-4

Although we can are perplexed by our situation, the Lord is not at all troubled. Since He is our sovereign Lord, we know He oversees our circumstances. Because He cares for us, we trust Him to use the situation to bring about a greater good than otherwise would be possible. We need faith to understand Him and to embrace His will. For this, our minds need to dwell upon His person and Word. Only then can our vision become clearly focused not on worries but on His ways and truths.
